Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and [Rholl entity name], the company behind Rholl. They govern the Rholl service at rholl.app. By creating an account, starting an event, or shooting photos as a guest, you agree to them. If you use Rholl on behalf of a studio or another organization, you confirm you can accept these terms for it.

1. What Rholl is

Rholl is a digital disposable camera for weddings and events. A host creates an event and shares a camera link or QR code. Guests open it on their phones and shoot a fixed roll of photos with no preview and no retakes. At the reveal time the host chose, the roll is developed with a film treatment and the album opens for the host and the guests of that event.

2. Your account

Hosts sign in with an email address and a one-time sign-in link. Keep that inbox secure; anyone who can read your email can open your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including the events you create and the people you invite to help run them. Give us accurate information and keep it current.

3. Guests

Guests do not create accounts. A guest joins through the host’s link, gives a first name, and may leave an email address to hear when the album opens. Each roll is tied to the device it was shot on. Hosts are responsible for how they share their event link and for making sure photography is welcome at their event.

4. Payments

Every event is free to start and holds a small number of guests. Hosts can pay to raise an event’s guest limit, upgrade a single event to Pro, or subscribe to the Studio plan, which covers every event a studio runs.

Payments are processed by Polar, our merchant of record. Polar runs the checkout, charges your payment method, and issues invoices and any refunds, so your purchase is also subject to Polar’s terms. Card numbers never touch Rholl.

Guest limit and Pro upgrades are one-time purchases for a single event. The Studio plan is a monthly subscription: it renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your settings through the billing portal; the plan then runs to the end of the period you paid for and does not renew. Prices are shown before you pay, and a price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

5. Your photos

Guests own the photos they take, and hosts own the material they add to an event, such as a cover image. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to us.

So Rholl can work, you give us permission to store, process, and display that content: we develop the photos with the film treatment, show the album to the host and the guests of that event, and prepare the downloads and collages the host asks for. By shooting a roll at an event, a guest gives the host and the other guests of that event permission to view, download, and share the developed album, which is the point of the product. We do not use your photos for anything else, including advertising or training models, without asking you first.

6. Acceptable use

Use Rholl only for events where photography is lawful and welcome. Do not upload content that is illegal, that harasses or exploits anyone, or that you have no right to share. Do not probe, overload, or interfere with the service, other people’s events, or other people’s data. We may hide content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

7. Reports and takedowns

Every album has a way to report a photo. Reports go to the event’s host and to us, and we may hide or remove content that breaks these terms or the law. Hosts can hide any photo from their album at any time. You can always reach us directly at hello@rholl.app.

8. Retention and deletion

Events and photos stay in your account so albums keep working, and you decide when they go. Hosts can delete their account from settings, which removes their events and the photos in them. Deletion is permanent. Guests can use the report control in the album, ask the host to hide a photo, or write to hello@rholl.app. The privacy policy describes what we keep and for how long.

9. The service

We work to keep Rholl available and improving, and features may change over time. The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, so download the albums that matter to you. If we ever discontinue Rholl, we will give hosts reasonable notice and time to download their albums first.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, [Rholl entity name] is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred dollars if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Rholl at any time and delete your account from settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we will say why unless the law prevents it. Sections that should outlast the agreement, such as ownership, liability limits, and governing law, survive it.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [State], without regard to its conflict of law rules, and disputes are resolved in the courts of [State].

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Rholl evolves. If a change matters, we will tell hosts by email or in the product before it takes effect. Using Rholl after that means you accept the updated terms. This page always shows the current version and its effective date.
