Three disposable camera apps, compared
Rholl, Once, and POV all do the same lovely thing: hand every guest a limited roll, hold the photos back, and reveal a shared album. Once and POV are polished, well liked products. The differences that matter are where the camera lives, what comes with an event, and how you pay.
Once
Once made this category feel serious, and it takes weddings seriously: tasteful design, film-style processing, a next-day reveal. Hosts run their event from an iOS app, and guests join by QR code without a download. Events are free up to five participants, then priced once per event, with the amounts shown inside the app. A recap video comes with the event.
The practical difference: with Rholl there is no app on either side. Hosts set up and run everything from a browser, on any phone or laptop, and every price is published on one page.
POV
POV brings a social, party-first energy, and joining is quick: an App Clip on iOS, the web on Android. Events under ten people are free, and larger ones are priced through a per-event calculator. Business features, including custom branding and a live slideshow, come as an add-on package, and they sell a printed photobook of your event.
The practical difference: Rholl includes the recap film and TV slideshow with every event, free ones included, and prices white label as a flat monthly plan instead of a per-event add-on.
Rholl
Rholl is the one built for the web. There is no native app anywhere in the flow: guests shoot from the phone's browser and hosts run the event from theirs, so it works the same on a new iPhone and a hand-me-down Android. Every event gets a short recap film and a TV slideshow. Events start free up to five guests, paid tiers raise the cap once, from $2.99 to $99.99, and studios can put their own brand on every event for $39 a month.
In fairness: if your guests are all on recent iPhones and you want the feel of a native app, Once and POV are worth your time. Rholl is built for the event where you cannot control what is in anyone's pocket.
