Rholl for trips

One roll for the whole trip

Everyone shoots along the way. The album opens when you are home.

Group trips scatter their photos across six camera rolls, two group chats, and somebody's drive that never gets shared. Rholl gives the trip one shared roll instead. Everyone shoots from their own phone, nobody sees anything until it is over, and the whole trip comes back at once, developed on film.

The constraint changes how people shoot. With a fixed roll and no previews, nobody stops to retake or post. You get the gas station coffee, the wrong turn, the summit, shot the way they felt at the time.

How the trip runs

  1. Create the trip

Set the reveal for the day you get back, whether that is tomorrow or the end of the month. One roll each, up to 36 shots for a long trip.

  2. Everyone shoots as you go

Scan once at the airport and the roll rides along. No signal on the trail? Shots wait on the phone and upload when coverage returns.

  3. Open it back home

The roll develops into one album of the entire trip, from everyone who was on it. Save it, share it, argue about it at the first dinner back.

The film

The trip, in a film

Every trip ends with a short film cut from the roll. It lands with the album, made to be sent to the group chat while everyone is still unpacking. There is a TV slideshow too, for the welcome-home dinner.

What it costs

A trip with five people is free, every feature included. More of you? Ten people is $2.99 and 25 is $4.99, paid once by whoever sets it up. Nobody else pays anything.

Questions

Does it work without signal?

Yes. Shots queue on the phone and upload when coverage returns, so a dead zone or airplane mode costs you nothing.

Can the roll last several days?

Yes. The roll stays open until the reveal time you set, days or weeks out. It develops once, when the trip is over.

How does everyone join?

One QR code or link, shared in the chat. Each person scans once and gets their own roll on their own phone. Nothing to install.

What does it cost?

Free for up to five people. Paid tiers start at $2.99, paid once, and no one but the organizer ever pays.
