Questions

Good to know

Everything people ask before their first event. Anything missing, write to hello@rholl.app.

What is Rholl?

A digital disposable camera for events. Guests scan a QR code, shoot a fixed roll from their phone's browser, and the photos develop overnight into a shared album with a real film look.

Does anyone need to install an app?

No. Rholl runs in the browser for guests and hosts alike, on iPhone and Android. It can sit on the home screen like an app if you want it there, but nobody has to visit an app store.

Why are there no previews or retakes?

Because that is what makes a disposable camera honest. With a fixed roll and nothing to check, people shoot once and stay in the moment, and the album comes back the way the day actually felt.

Is there a live feed during the event?

No. Nothing shows until the reveal, not even to the host. The wait is the product.

When does the album open?

At the reveal time the host sets. The default is nine the morning after, and you can pick any time, even weeks out for a long trip.

How many photos does each guest get?

The host sets the roll size when creating the event, anywhere from 6 to 36 shots. The default is twelve, like a real disposable.

What film looks are there?

Five: Portra 400, Gold 200, Tri-X 400 in black and white, a clean natural look, and a flash disposable look. Most add grain, halation, a white border, and a burned-in timestamp; natural keeps things quiet.

What is the film that comes with an event?

A short recap film cut from the roll, rendered for every event once it has at least a handful of frames. It is ready with the album, made for phones, and yours to download and share.

What is the TV slideshow?

A full-screen slideshow of the album for AirPlay and Chromecast. Put it on the living room TV or the venue screen and drive it from your phone.

What happens if the signal drops mid-event?

Nothing is lost. Shots queue on the phone and upload on their own when coverage returns, so barns, basements, and mountaintops are fine.

What does it cost?

Every event is free up to 5 guests, with every feature included. Paid tiers raise the guest cap once, from $2.99 for 10 guests to $99.99 for no limit. There is no subscription for a single event.

Do guests ever pay?

Never. Only the host pays, and only if the event outgrows the free tier.

Can I put my own brand on it?

Yes. Studios and planners can run events under their own logo and accent color, across the guest screens and the emails. A Pro event is $149 one time, or the Studio plan covers every event you run for $39 a month.

Who owns the photos, and how private are they?

The album belongs to the event. Photos stay in the host's account until deleted, the host can download everything and hide any shot from the shared album, and albums are only reachable by people with the event link.
